Congratulations to Dan Marshall, Fairfield’s newest Police Chief!!
The Matt Garcia Foundation is proud to congratulate Dan Marshall on his promotion to Chief of Police for the City of Fairfield. Dan has been very active in the community, including supporting our foundation, coaching youth sports, and serving as a founding member and President of the Fairfield Police Activities League. He began his career in law enforcement in 1998 with the City of Benicia as a Reserve Police Officer and Animal Control Officer. In November of 1999, he was hired by the City of Fairfield Police Department where he rose through the ranks and served in various roles within the department, including the youth services unit, crisis negotiations and the homeless intervention team. He also participated with the local Faith Partners Against Crime organization and served on the Board of Directors for the Solano Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
We will certainly miss Chief Cantrell, but we are very grateful that She left the Police Department in very capable hands. Dan’s passion for serving people and helping youth fits well with our goal of keeping Matt’s Dream Alive.
